Pewter Commissions involve a couple of steps.
First contact me with a picture of what you are hoping for. Include dimensions and any specifics such as backing and/or what the piece is intended for.
At this point I can tell if my skill is up to the job or not. At the moment I am still doing my molds mostly in soapstone.
Soapstone is very unforgiving and has lots of limitations.
If I don't think I can do it, I will tell you so.
If I am comfortable with the challenge, We'll discuss costs.
If the piece is solely yours, meaning that no one else would ever be interested in purchasing one of their own, there is a minimum project fee ranging from of $75 - $200. Difficulty level such as lettering and openwork are a factor when determining the fee. The more difficult the piece, the higher the fee. This fee includes FIVE completed pieces. If you desire more, you can budget for $4 per ounce of actual pewter your additional pieces require.
If your piece requires a gem, and you want me to set it, that will be extra.
If I think your piece could potentially be wanted by others, your price is considerably less. Your flat fee would be $50 and include TEN of the pieces. If you require more, we can discuss that. Gem additions are still extra if you want me to set it.
NOTE: Purchasing pieces based on actual ounces used will be MUCH less than from the storefront. It's my thank you for a great design!
